The Builder of All Things is God

I was filled with joy as I walked through the new residential home we have opened in Colleyville. The rooms are filling with beautiful furniture and decorations from the loving touch of volunteers and friends who are partnering in this vision to provide hope and help to single pregnant women. I was thinking how far we have come and how perfect is this house that God has provided.

As many of you may know, we had a residential home in Keller many years ago that was not able to be sustained due to lack of financial backing. The sale of that home was a very sad day for me. We were full of vision and ministry  but we hadn’t lain enough of a financial foundation so eventually had to face the reality that we were not able to continue in that ministry model. In 2006 we restarted the ministry of Mercy House using shepherding homes and working very diligently to lay a good financial foundation that will sustain the work that God so graciously is allowing us to do. And now our dream has been realized! The home is opening, the houseparents are on their way and most importantly the ministry will begin.

Today as I read in my daily journal reading, this is what struck me out of Haggai: “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts. YES!! Peace is the goal! Peace of soul and peace in the homes of the women we serve for Jesus is our Prince of Peace. It blessed me so much to read further in Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” We have not labored in vain because the Lord has done this wonderful thing. Hebrews 3:4 says, “For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.”
