We’re excited to announce a baby girl was born on 12-27-21 at 5:41 am, 7 lbs 19″ long.

The miracle of new life.

A message from Susan….

This week, I had the joy of attending the birth of one of our Mercy House babies. Her sweet mother labored patiently and faithfully all night long and delivered a beautiful, healthy little girl in the early hours of the morning. She was attended by a team of midwives and a doula who helped her beautifully and gently through her childbirth journey.

It’s been a while since I attended a birth, having retired from midwifery practice and just been at my grandbabies’ births. But I remember, at every birth, I never got tired of seeing the miracle of a brand new life coming into the world.

How amazing it is to see it happen, and be a part of that first breath, first cry, and first embrace.

I was moved again to tears with the wonder and joy of it all.

Experiencing this birth reminded me anew of why we do what we do. It’s because God is the giver of life, and He is the God of love who created this eternal soul. It’s because every life is precious and deserves to live out their destiny and purpose. It’s because we want to love every mother and baby into the good future and hope that God has for them.

We can’t save every life. I wish we could. But we can save some.

We can stand for life.

We can be a beacon on a hill that says there is always hope and we can show the way.

We can fight for life and never let go of the dream of changing the future for the ones God sends us.

So to all of our donors, volunteers, staff, administration and intercessors, I want to say THANK YOU for making Mercy House possible. Thank you for believing in life and providing hope and help.

I truly believe that 2022 will be a year to make more room for the precious lives God sends us.
